Wrestling: District 1, 3, 4, 10, 11 & 12 Predictions

The Districts are upon this and the Morris-Sussex wrestlers are getting closer to a legitimate chance to compete in Atlantic City.  I'm going to break each weight class down and predict who I think will be advancing.

Butler’s Jason Chrostowski comes in with a 32-2 record and currently owns a victory over Kinnelon’s Jack Doty. Look for a rematch in the finals with Chrostowski coming out on top.

Zach Haase of North Warren comes in with a 17-7 record while Jefferson’s Max Alonso comes in with a 17-10 record. Look for this to be a finals matchup with Alonso coming out on top.

Brett Redner of Butler was a round away from placing in the 2020 season and a Regional Qualifier last season. He is looking to get back to Atlantic City this year and will start off the post season with a tough finals match against Shane Nelson of Kittatinny who was a Region Qualifier a year ago. Look for Redner to win this match-up and move into next week Region 1 Tournament.

Kinnelon’s Evan Mougalian a State Champion in 2020 and a State Runner up in 2021 will look to end his career on top of the podium in Atlantic City. Look for him to get a District Title in the process.

Chris Casale of Kittatinny enters the post season with a 21-7 record and was a Region Qualifier a year ago. Look for him to meet Jefferson’s Michael VanderMeulen in the finals who was also a Region Qualifier last year and come out with a District Title for Kittatinny.

Ryan Flammer of Jefferson enters the post season with a 25-7 record and a 4th place finish in the Morris County Tournament. Look for him to meet Kinnelon’s Andrew Davies in the finals in what will be an entertaining match. Look for Flammer to come out on top.

Jack Oseback of Wayne Hills a Region Qualifier last year enters the District Tournament with a 21-3 record.  Look for him to meet Kittatiny’s Bryce Cosefeld in the finals and get a District Title for Wayne Hills.

Steve Darling of Kittatinny an 8th place finisher from a season ago enters the tournament with a 26-3 record. Look for him to start his quest to reach the podium again with a District Title.

Joseph Dibiase of Jefferson enters the tournament with a 23 – 9 record. Look for him to meet Isaac Thomas of Vernon-Twp-Walkill Valley and get another District Champion for Jefferson.

Richard Devries of Pompton Lakes enters the tournament with a 23-8 record. Look for him to meet Ashton Fava of Wayne Hills and win a District Title for Pompton Lakes.

Mohammed Suliman of Wayne Hills enters the tournament with a 24-4 record. Look for him to meet Butler Freshman Luca Toriello in the finals and earn a District Championship for Wayne Hills.

Peter Delaportas of Jefferson enters the District Tournament as the 1 seed and a State Qualifier from the 2020 season. Look for him to win another District Title for Jefferson and become one step closer to getting back down to Atlantic City.

Dylan Patscher of Jefferson a Region Qualifier last year will look to start off his quest to Atlantic City with a District Title. Ty Eldred of Kittatinny a 6th place finisher in the Region Tournament last year also is looking to get to Atlantic City and win a District Title.  Look for Patscher to come out on top with a win.
