There's nothing like football in June, especially when it's the Phil Simms North-South Annual Football All Star Game.  This storied game is back after Covid-19 shut it down the past two years and it is jam packed with a ton of fantastic All Staters, blue chip recruits and stars from the 2021 season up and down the great state of New Jersey.

This year's game will be played on Sunday, June 12th at 6pm at Kean University and will be broadcasted live on the Morris Sussex Sports Network.

The Morris-Sussex players representing the North will be Jack Stoll - Pope John, Trevor Hillier - West Morris, Jack Young - Newton, Zach Thomas - Morris Catholic, Dom Verducci - Par Hills, Mo Gaber - Montville, Pat Gilchrist - Randolph, Dylan Patcher - Jefferson, Kevin Coulther - Vernon and Luke Schabel - Roxbury

North-South Game History

In 1978 a group of New Jersey high school coaches banded together to organize, promote and play the State's inaugural all-star football game. Eighty of the best high school football players in the state participated in the contest hosted at Rutgers Stadium. The granddaddy of NJ high school all-star football games, the Classic has been played every year since 1979 with the exception of 2002 (thunderstorms) and 2019 / 2020 (pandemic). Playing predominantly at Rutgers University for the first 30 years, the game is currently hosted by Kean University where ninety players from throughout the state along with coaches and support personnel arrive on Friday and stay on campus through the Monday night game. Players practice multiple times per day and are fed four meals daily. The NJICA features 34 coaches, athletic directors, school administrators and business professionals who volunteer their time and experience to provide a unique and memorable experience for high school senior football players as they begin their transition from high school ball to the collegiate gridiron. Former New York Giant Phil Simms partnered with the NJICA beginning in 2015. His on-field support and financial contributions have been instrumental in regards to the continued success of the Classic.
